It is snow joke for Nailsea

One minute you are watching the tennis on the television from sunny Australia and the next you wake up and it is snowing – well blobbing white stuff really.

Solomon and Calum on the red sled that broke coming down The Perrings
I know the tennis was indoors because of the late night scheduling timetable but you could feel the heat.
Not this morning in Nailsea – it is so c-c-cold.
Thoughts immediately turn to will the boiler hold out, is the car going to start and if it gets much worse will North Somerset Council start announcing school closures?
I had just been boasting how good the weather had been this year.
Well the recycling lorries have already been around our road, record numbers of people are jetting off from the award-winning Bristol Airport so no delays there and public transport is all running on time as this first flurry arrives which isn't enough to make a small snowball let alone a snowman.
But if you want to be reminded of how bad but picturesque it can be take a look at a selection of our photo galleries from previous years by clicking on the links below:
Remembering the snow photos are at GALLERY 1, GALLERY 2, GALLERY 3,GALLERY 4, GALLERY 5 and GALLERY 6.
We need to buy a new sleigh as the one last year broke on the slopes of The Perrings - I have seen them stacked up in the supermarkets, garden shop and local garage next to the barbecue fuel!
While the snow is settling on the Mendips it is suppose to clear here by midday and the short-term forecast for the next few days is more light snow showers and frost.
Not sure about the long-term predictions but Nailsea People will spring into action with more weather news as we get it and please feel free to post your weather photos in the gallery or send them to nailsea@thelocalpeople.co.uk - prize for the best.
