 Children in Need has been celebrated at Gilly's cafe, Nailsea, ever since it opened nearly a decade ago. Over the years The staff has dressed as Oompa-Loompas, the workers from the Roald Dalh book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and fancy dress angels. For 2012 they are hosting a Mad Hatter's Tea Party

  • No it's not an outbreak of measles at Golden Valley Primary School although all the children are covered in spots
  • The youngsters are raising money with a decorated cake sale and other stunts all day
  • Children at Kingshill CoE Primary School at Pound Lane have also gone down with a rash of spots
  • But they soon cheered up when they heard about the fundraising afterschool cake sale and disco party
  • Children at Hannah More Infant School wore spotty T-shirts and dressing gowns in class at Whiteoak Way on Friday
  • They are hoping to have made lots of money for Pudsey who in this picture they are giving a wave
  • At next door Grove Junior School wearing your spotty bed clothes to lessons made these children a bit sleepy
  • The Old Farmhouse at Nailsea had a fabulous Children in Need night and raised nearly £1,000
  • They held a raffle, sponsored headshave and a shocking shirt competition
  • As well as the two shaved heads, tombola, competitions for the children.
  • Money was also raised by selling cakes, biscuits and chocolates
  • A big thank you goes to all the good sports and everyone who supported the charity event
  • Students and staff at Nailsea School raised £400.25 by wearing spotty accessories for the day, with teacher Will Farrell also painting his shirt with a unique Pudsey design
  • Nailsea School Year 8 students Sophie White and Rebecca Pugh held a sponsored silence, and were joined by Georgina Pierce and Charlotte Oliver to hold a raffle for a giant Pudsey Bear biscuit, raising a total of £52.42
  • Nailsea School Year 11 student Jack Andrews bravely volunteered to have his legs and stomach waxed, with students sponsoring him as well as paying for the privilege of taking off the wax strips! Jack raised the mammoth sum of £242
  • At lunch time students brought in their loose change to cover a Pudsey picture and sixth formers joined in the fun by dressing in pyjamas. More photos on Nailsea School website
  • Two super fit Long Ashton schoolboys raised nearly £500 for Children in Need by running 5KM with their legs tied together. Backwell School pupils Huw Evans and Kylan Stillwood, both aged 12, completed the run in 51 minutes
  • Backwell School sixth formers dressed as children's characters for Children in Need. The rest of the school were in non-uniform. The day raised more than £1,450
