I like the people. A wealth of interesting decent folk who are generally very caring. A few rotten apples but many fewer than 12 years ago. Nailsea residents as a whole are very easy to work with but you cannot get away with being less than truthful. There is an expert just around the corner for everything. A wide variety of buildings of all ages. There are some incredible modern ones and of course a great many older ones. Location is good too, though the local roads are not as good as they should be. You can easily get to Cornwall, Birmingham or London and a commute can be pretty easy. Dedication of many groups and people to do so much for the town, Nailsea in Bloom, the music and theatre groups, community transport and the sports club. They make this a great town to live in.
Regeneration of the town centre is taking too long. A lot of the town is wearing badly. The library has concrete cancer and many of the roads were shoddily built in the 1960s so they keep breaking up. The rumour mill; breathe here and someone knows about it. Be a councillor and you get a lot of gossip that finds itself into the most negative nasty untruthful leaflets I've seen in 30 years. In my last council role I discovered a lot about child protection in and around Nailsea i would rather wasn't there to find.
