A new year message from Nailsea gym club

ALTHOUGH it is only three months since we moved to our new venue in Blackfriars Road, Nailsea, in many ways it seems as if we at Gemini Gym Club have always been there.
-
In September top gymnast Beth Tweddle who was made an MBE in the new year's honours list officially opened the club
At the start of this new year and new decade Carolyn, Sarah and Jill would like to take this opportunity to thank all our coaches, all the members who were with us at our original venue and moved with us, and also the many new members who have subsequently joined us, for helping to make the move enjoyable and for laughing at our ‘teething pains’ and ‘hiccups’ - don’t mention the heating or the parking.
We would also like to thank Adam and Nick Gould for all the help that they have given us, and lastly to our husbands – Alex, Andrew and Mike for all their love and support.
In these three months we have had the official opening by top gymnast Beth Tweddle who was made an MBE in the new year's honours list, a Halloween party, Christmas party and disco for our members, in addition to the usual gymnastics coaching sessions.
The club competition and the first inter-school gymnastics competition were very popular and very well attended by parents and supporters, as well as by representatives of both North Somerset and British Gymnastics.
Our coaches will be coaching in further primary schools in the area next year which will climax in a second inter-school competition.
There have also been British Gymnastics training courses held at the club and this trend is set to continue in 2010.
In February we will be holding a Valentines Ball which will be our first fundraising event of the year.
The event is on Saturday, February 13, at Flax Bourton village hall.
There will be a three-course dinner, disco and live singer all for just £25.
Tickets will be on sale soon from the club office – 01275 866419.
Our gymnastic sessions re-commence today, Monday, January 4, so if any parent is looking for a fun and safe way to exercise and meet new friends come along and see what we can offer.
We take children from eight weeks to early 20s and have had new members starting since we moved to our new venue.
Our gymnastic birthday parties are also very popular – providing a safe environment to work off all that energy while taking part in increasingly popular sport, and then cooling down with a birthday party in our coffee bar.
To find out more either visit it us in Blackfriars Road, Nailsea or contact Sarah on 01275 542119, Jill on 01275 854872 or Carolyn on 01934 832744.
