Was it disrespectful?

Sunday 24th April 2011, Easter Sunday, for many one of the holiest days of the year. Was it therefore disrespectful for a Nailsea councillor to be banging on those doors, on that day, touting for votes for the forthcoming district council election?

Major parties frown on or forbid campaigning on Sundays and holy days.
Opponents would tend to see campaigning on Easter Sunday as desperation.

It is also considered good manners to close gates and not to campaign late.
