Young people's community award

I see that Nailsea Town Council has created a new award for young people - an individual or group up to the age of 25 who have shown "exceptional merit and endeavour" in any field of activity in the community.
If you are under 25 have been involved with work in your community or know someone who has, then visit the Nailsea Town Council website for more details.

I remember getting a Lions Award for something similar, many years ago. At the time I was quite surprised that I should be awarded for doing something I enjoyed doing - it was working with riding for the disabled and helping my art teacher take after school classes. Looking back, I think that it was a really good thing to be awarded and I hope that young people will be pleased that they are getting recognition as it may encourage more young people to do the same.
