North Somerset Council executive member whose portfolio includes waste management Carl Francis-Pester said: "As the bank holiday fast approaches, we would like to remind residents that waste and recycling should still be presented for collection by 7am on bank holiday Monday, August 30, if this is your normal collection day."

Wraxall parish councillor Tony Tavener told me about a similar situation in his village will piles of rubbish littering the road side for weeks on end - anyone else experiencing problems?

I'm in Tickenham and our bins have never been picked up on the day of collection.

The recycling boxes has never been collected on the service day, from the first week they started. I am paying for a service, I am not getting. This week we had to phone after the recyle box was not collected and it was collected the next day.

Who long do we have to put up with this poor and 2nd rate service?
