Manager Helen Williamson and her two stylists Tina Andrews and Michelle Bywaters are thrilled and surprised that the small business at St Mary’s Grove polled 60 per cent of the vote.
In total 2,762 votes were cast during the last fortnight in February and every salon in Nailsea and Backwell was listed for online readers to chose their favourite.
Helen said: “When I found out that some of the salons had put out pleas for votes on Facebook I decided to tell everyone to vote for us – and I know lots of people.”
New Image was the runaway winner with SP Hair in the High Street coming second with 36 per cent of the vote.
The top Backwell saloon was Broad Street Hair Company, at Rodney Road.
This week Nailsea People community publisher Carol Deacon presented the winning certificate to Helen.
Carol said: “I am really excited at the success of the poll and the praise given to our website which is dedicated to the people and businesses of Nailsea and its wider community.”
Helen, aged 26, trained at Reflections Hair Academy. She has run New Image for the past three years.
Helen is married to Tom, of TBW Plumbing & Heating, and the couple have a 16-week old baby daughter called Amelia.
Helen said: “We are small, friendly and professional salon.”
New Image ustomers will have a new treat in May when they will be offering 20 per cent off colours and a new beauty shop and nail bar opens next door.

ReportOn reading this article, I rang New Image to book an appointment, but couldn't get the number to ring. So I went to try to book in person. The property is no longer occupied and the billboard indicates it's for rent. Has this hairdresser moved to a new location? Can't seem to find them :( If anyone knows where they are now, please let me know as I'd like to make an appointment.
