Lasting Tribute celebrates Grandparents Day

Our grandparents always hold a special place in our hearts and memories - even when they are sadly no longer with us.
Did you know that on Sunday (October 4) it's National Grandparents Day?
This is an idea that started in America and the charity Age Concern brought it over to the UK in 1990.
Grandparents Day aims to celebrate the important things our Grandparents do - and did - for us.
It fits in well with the idea behind the Bristol Evening Post's Lasting Tribute website which celebrates the lives of those no longer with us and lets anyone, anywhere in the world, share their memories of friends, loved ones, and those they've admired in the public eye.
One of the memorial gifts that Lasting Tribute offers is a dedicate-a- tree service.
And in honour of Grandparents Day, you can dedicate a tree for just £9.99 instead of the usual price of £19.99 between now and Monday October 12.
In return, Lasting Tribute's trusted partners The Tree Appeal will plant a tree in the UK county of your choice and you will receive a personalised dedication certificate.
More details are on the website. Just go to the online shop at Lasting Tribute and click on the Grandparents Day image on the right of the page.
Whenever anyone pays for a bereavement or in memoriam announcement to be placed in the Evening Post, - or any of our partner newspapers - the price automatically covers publication online at Lasting Tribute too. This means that friends and family anywhere in the world can browse for the notice online and add their memories and messages of condolence.
