If you have visited Nailsea recently you could be forgiven for thinking you were in one of the South West's

popular tourist towns.  The small dedicated group from Nailsea in Bloom have been steadily working away creating a wonderful display in readiness for the judges visit last Tuesday. With a small budget, and support by Nailsea Town Council, sponsors from amongst the businesses and local groups I think we can be justifiably pleased with what has been achieved.  Certainly the comments received by the team who have been working around the town, usually on a Sunday morning are very encouraging.  I think everyone will agree that Nailsea is a far nicer place to live and work than it was 7 years ago before this group started on transforming the town.  If you would like to help the group continue this good work, your offer will be only too readily accepted.  You could be an individual, or a local group, who would like to follow the example of the W.I and look after a specific area. If you would like to be involved please get in touch with the Chairman, Martyn Davis on 855563.

The visiting judges Mr.Terry Porter and Mr. Andy Cole spent a whole day, visiting the town, which included a visit to Golden Valley School and Nowhere Woods. They appeared to be very impressed by everything they saw, particularly, the High Street containers and hanging baskets, which are superb this year.  Hopefully this will result in us maintaining our gold medal position, but whatever the outcome, the committee are very pleased with the results of the group's hard work, and delighted to have helped Nailsea become such an attractive place to live or visit.
