ALL the fun of the fair will be at Scotch Horn, Nailsea, on the May Day bank holiday weekend.

The James Rogers fun fair arrives on Thursday, April 29, with the rides in action from 6pm.

And on Monday afternoon, May 3, from noon on the Millennium Park is the annual May Day fair organised by the 2nd Nailsea Scouts.

Promises of a fun-packed afternoon for all the family include a new attraction this year with the Jumicar, a self-drive experience for children aged six-year-olds and upwards.

There will also be the traditional entertainment, inflatables and a variety of side-shows as well as the hotly contested cub scouts’ football tournament and car boot sale with space for 150 cars.

Live music will be provided by local bands and the Nailsea Scouts marching band with refreshments including barbecued burgers and hot dogs.

The fairground will open all week.

2nd Nailsea Scouts is selling lucky souvenir programmes at 50p with the chance to win a cash prize and many other prizes in the Grand Draw.

May Fair organiser and 2nd Nailsea Scouts chairman Richard Simmonds, said: “The May Fair is organised on a voluntary basis by 2nd Nailsea Scouts and, as well as being the first major community event of the year, it is also a very important fundraising opportunity for the Scout Group and the many other local charities that take part.”

Those wishing to take part in the car boot should turn up from 10am.

Any local charities wishing to take part who have not already been contacted should contact the Richard on 01275 857784 to book a space.
