Come on Bristol airport, we need flights to our twin city

This letter was sent in to the Bristol Evening Post by Barry Mead, of Nailsea. Do you agree with him, that Bristol International Airport should run flights to Hannover?
I was very pleased to read about the group of students who were able to jet out to Bordeaux from Bristol International Airport.
You quote BIA as saying: "We are delighted to be able to play a part in maintaining links with Bristol's twin city."
It is a pity that the same attitude is not shown to our other long-standing twin city of Hannover. Like Bordeaux, Bristol has also been linked with Hannover since 1947, and those of us who travel regularly there are still waiting after over 60 years for a direct flight from Bristol.
I have written more than once to BIA about this but have never received any reply from BIA as to why they are still unable to provide the same service for the Hannover link.
So many different groups go from Bristol to Hannover regularly from schools, sports clubs, music groups etc, and it is always a long and sometimes tedious journey finding ways to get there from here. Come on Bristol, if you can do it for Bordeaux you can surely do it for Hannover!
Barry Mead,
Nailsea.
