The Bristol and District Snooker League, which has been running for over 50 years, has a new record break.
James Bennett, of Page A, had a break of 142 in his win against Nick Verinder, of Hanham Snooker Centre, which surpassed the previous best of 138, made by Andrew Weeks, of Warmley, in 1985.
Bennett was playing at home for the first time this season, having played his previous 19 matches away, and he helped Page to a 4-1 win.
He also had breaks of 58 and 44 during his 2-0 victory.
Bennett's break of 142 is the highest break made by an amateur player in the country for over a year.
