Adge Cutler - back in the headlines

How lovely to see the West Country's own Adge Cutler back in the headlines with this great tongue-in-cheek story calling for Bristol Airport to be renamed Adge Cutler International.
Born in Portishead, Adge - real name Alan John Cutler - was brought up in Nailsea and made his name as the founder of The Wurzels.
Do you have memories of his performances in this area? Apparently he was seven when he made his performing debut singing in Nailsea.
Although Adge left us far too soon - killed in a car crash in 1974 on his way home from a gig - The Wurzels continued the fun and laughter he had begun with his songs about cider-drinking and village life around Bristol and the West Country.
