Like Bob Dylan song I am urging Nailsea People to get stoned with a really great beauty massage. They use real stones, great big smooth pebbles like the ones found on Clevedon beach before everyone took them to build rockeries. And like the laying of hand this is a therapy where hot stones are placed on specific parts of the body by a trained therapist to induce a feeling of relaxation and well-being - it's really good. Using heated stones on aching muscles is a treatment used by native Americans many moons ago. Forget 'warm' - the stones are hot at approximately 122-127 degrees Fahrenheit although not burning hot. In my time researching local beauty salons I have enjoyed an aromatherapy massage, a more physical sports pounding and a gentle body wrap but this was the best although the most expensive at £30 for head, neck and shoulders. Experienced therapist Lynn Roome has healing hands which gives you the confidence to lay back and think nice thoughts while she works her wonders. And with beautician Liz Harding the women work their magic with acrylic nails, facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing, eye-lash extensions, make-up, ear piercing and tanning at their recently refurbished salon at Old Church Road. They also offer the celebrity 'non-surgical' face and body anti-ageing beauty miracle by CACI an international, award winning company with more than two years expertise in the beauty industry. But don't take my word for it pop in on Thursday, May 17, from noon-9pm for a special open day with deomonstrations, taster treatments, discount vouchers, goody bags and a glass of bubbly or twon. Call Beautique on 01275 880588 for more information or to book an appointment.
