Congestion At 29 Degrees

Hello there!
That time of the week again! Time goes by so quickly.
This week something very unexpected happened. We both fell victim to the latest viral infestation and were reduced to snivelling, congested lumps. The major downside to this was that I succumbed to the "Great Summer Cold of 2010" on the hottest day of the year so far. With my low grade fever and bright red nose, lying in the garden was out of the question. Instead I took to feeling enormously sorry for myself and mourning the loss of the skin on, and under my nose.
Bad times.
I took to layering moisturiser under my nose 10 times a day to try and encourage the skin to calm down. This meant that on numerous occasions I forgot myself and travelled whilst wearing it to the supermarket. I took the stares as a sign I was definitely looking better than I felt. So naive.
Another two impressive falls from grace have occurred this week.
The other day I spotted a lady walking through Nailsea precinct with her skirt tucked into her knickers. Having walked the entire length of the 6th form common room at school having done the same thing myself, I know how mortifying it is. In my efforts to chase the woman, my own jeans came loose and I ended up mooning everyone unfortunate enough to be in the vicinity at the time. I suppose I saved her blushes by creating a suitable distraction with my own...
I locked myself in again. Twice in as many weeks now. I've now taken to charting my keys throughout the day to avoid similar mishaps in future! There's only so many times you can use the same excuse before people start to wonder!!!
House move preparations continue apace. I have twice packed the cat after she snuck into boxes when I wasn't looking, and the lovely home we have now looks very bare and uninspiring! Still, it will be a wonderful place for all the new memories of the people who live here next and we are really looking forward to the challenge ahead of us!
Until next time.........

I hate colds with a vehemence as am always so ill, primarily because I do not get them for years and years!!!! I hope the skin has reformed and that you are now 100% fit! Skirt in knickers is our worst nightmare and the lady concerned was so beautifully turned out - you running after her and revealing your curves definately created a diversion!!! Am loving your blog and await the next instalment!!!

ReportMan flu versions always seem much more debilitating! Hehe! It was a horrible cold, hope all the little ones are fighting fit again now. I've never fallen victim to a cold in the summer before and it seemed so much worse- probably because I felt so annoyed to be missing out on all that wonderful sunshine! xx

ReportLast Thursday my house became the sick bay for three poorly children and I must admit I parked illegally in the pull-in place outside Tesco to run in for medicine. It was/is the summer cold from hell and is still doing the rounds but somehow the man flu version is the worse! xx
