ONE of the most popular adventure parks in the South West is getting behind our armed forces by staging a Heroes Weekend in support of Help For Heroes.

Puxton Park in Weston-super-Mare will stage Heroes Weekend on October 13 and 14 where children can dress up as their favourite superhero for discounted entry and the funds raised will be donated to Help for Heroes.

The day will also allow visitors to meet the police horses and their handlers on Saturday, the RNLI lifeboat crews and their lifeboat, as well as cadets and marching bands.

In addition there will be a range of charity stalls within the park and extra rides on offer such as bouncy castles and face painting.

The Heroes weekend follows Puxton Park's link up in 2012 with Heroes Welcome, a nationwide initiative supporting our serving or veteran servicemen and women.

This scheme gives 50 per cent discount at Puxton Park to force personnel and their families.
Head of Park, Susie Johnson, said: "We have held super heroes weekends in the past and they have proved highly popular.

"What better way to celebrate our armed forces and all the work that they do than by coming to Puxton for a family hero themed weekend."
