Once again Chas Hodges, one half of the legends that are Chas and Dave, and Lonnie Donegan Jnr team up to present Rabbit & Skiffle; Summer Special.
Pianist Chas Hodges and guitarist Dave Peacock were widely experienced around the British rock scene of the 1960s and early 70s and wrote and recorded exceptionally witty songs about life in London.
Chas continues to tour under the name of Chas And His Band, performing all his favourite hits including 'Rabbit' and 'Gertcha'.
Now he has teamed up with Lonnie Donegan Jnr and His Skiffle Band to present a unique evening of sing a'long entertainment in Rabbit & Skiffle; Summer Special.
Lonnie Jnr will set your feet stomping by performing some of his dad's most iconic cotton picking, chicken plucking comedy hits such as Rock Island Line, My Old Man's a Dustman, Cumberland Gap, Battle of New Orleans and many more.
Then you'll be on your feet accompanying Chas as he performs a string of Chas & Dave stunners such as Rabbit, Gertcha, Sideboard Song, London Girls, and Snooker Loopy.
Now if that lot doesn't get you going; then there ain't no pleasing you!
If you were around in the fifties to witness the skiffle phenomena you will be aware of the huge impact it had on British music.
"Lonnie was the first pop idol, he was the man who started us all off," Paul McCartney.
Lonnie Donegan Jnr and his brother Pete launched the band in 2009 due to popular demand by countless Donegan fans following his father's passing.
Lonnie Jnr, said: "In the following months after dad passed, it was decided that myself and brother Pete would come to the stage to perform together in the form of a musical to tell of the life and works of Dad.
"In the summer of 2004 brother Pete and myself along with cast of the musical were given the chance to showcase the soon-to-come event at none other than the Royal Albert Hall.
"Many of the biggest names in music such as Joe Cocker. Van Morrison, Roger Daltry, Mark Knopfler, Jerry Marsden, Joe Brown, Chas 'n' Dave, Kenny Ball, Bruce Welch, to name but a few, had come together to show their gratitude to Dad all backed by world class musicians including of course the members of Dad's band: Paul Henry, Mike Pace, Allan [sticky] Wicket, and Chris Hunt.
"The show was a sell-out, needless to say, Dad sure was gonna be a hard act to follow.
"I have performed to Dad's fans for some time now and it's an obligation I readily embrace, and sincerely hope the rockisland line rolls on for generations to come."
