AUDIENCES get ready to be highly entertained as one of the finest voices ever returns to the Playhouse Theatre with an intimate solo acoustic show.
Dennis Locorriere, formerly the lead singer of the hugely successful 1970s band Dr Hook, has a voice that is immediately recognised the world over.
Without reservation he still has one of the greatest voices ever and that is 26 years after the group he sang for decided to call it a day.
Dennis Locorriere has always been an artist who is truly, once seen never forgotten and his new Point Zero Tour showcases new material as well as all the old Dr Hook favourites.
Dr Hook is only really the early part of Dennis' story because for more than 30 years he's paid his dues appearing in a major movie with Dustin Hoffman and starring at New York's prestigious Lincoln Center in a universally acclaimed one man play The Devil And Billy Markham written by Shel Silverstein especially for him.
He's written songs that have been recorded by a wide variety of other artists including Bob Dylan, Southside Johnny, Crystal Gayle, BJ Thomas, Olivia Newton-John, Waylon Jennings, Helen Reddy and Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton & Loretta Lynne.
Dennis Locorriere's first solo album Out Of The Dark was released in 2000 and he won new audiences when he embarked on a major UK tour.
His second solo album One Of The Lucky Ones was released in 2005, the same year he played the main stage at Glastonbury to rave reviews whilst his live DVD Alone With Dennis Locorriere was warmly welcomed both here and in the USA.
Recent achievements include the release of his third studio album, Post Cool, in 2010, closely followed by a live DVD, Post Cool Live, filmed at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall.
Join him for a great night featuring numbers from his solo career alongside all the Dr Hook favourites.
"Dennis Locorriere" will be at the Playhouse, Weston-super-Mare, on Saturday 23 February, at 7.30pm. Tickets priced £20 are available on 01934 645 544 or online at http://tinyurl.com/ckzqxvr
