I took my family here (wife, 5 year old and 3 year old daughters) on 24.08.10.

We arrived at 16:50 so I asked if we were too late to take advantage of the offer (advert states kids eat free until 17:00. I was uncertain whether that was the arrive/start time or the clear off time for the children) answer was "no problem you are more than welcome".

The food was neither cheap or expensive but it was very good fayre. Both the FREE children’s meals were of a quality and standard to match the full price adult meals and there was enough on the plate to satisfy most grown ups! There was a complimentary basket of olives and bread whilst we waited for the main course.

The service and the attention to the customer was refreshingly genuine. The pub was mostly empty whilst we were there (17:00 - 18:30 midweek - teatime) but I suspect that the care and attention that we were afforded would be replicated at any time.

We had a brief chat with the new owners before we left and assured them that we would return soon.

Although I have only dined here on the one occasion (so far) I feel that it would not be too irresponsible to recommend this venue as a choice for anyone who can afford approx £25.00 for a meal and a drink for two adults and two children.

I hope that this submission enables potential future customers to make an enlightened choice and rewards the new owners of the 'farmhouse' for the care and consideration they showed us when we visited.
