I always get mine from Birches Farm, which is located at Cambridge Batch on the B3130 between the Long Ashton double roundabout and the A370 junction. They sell hay and straw by both the bale and half-bale (I find the latter better as it doesn't dry out before my rabbits get to the end of it - I think it costs somewhere around £3.50 for a half bale). The green garden waste bags are just the right size to hold a half-bale, so I always take one of those with me. Birches also sell nice lamb, if you eat it, and a nice range of vegetables.

Thanks Ruth. Half a Bale wouldn't last me very long with all my bunnies. I do buy full bales from there but lately its not been very good so wondered if there was anywhere else I could try.

Could it be due to the season - if it's still last year's stored hay they're selling, perhaps it's not so nice (I have noticed my rabbits aren't so keen either). I don't know when they do a new cut.

I think this is the new cut, at least I was told it was which is why the price has gone up. I think hay is in short supply because of the weather so last years cut ran out quicker than normal. I've had the odd bale before which wasn't great, but the bunnies still ate it, lately though I've thrown a fair bit away because of the amount of mud and prickles in it.
