I've written - to National Grid, Dr Liam Fox, local council, and N Somerset Council. If I can do it, so can you. This will affect EVERYONE in Nailsea, Backwell and Wraxall. Register your objection now, before it's too late.  The consultation period ends on Jan 4th 2010. For more details, and relevant email addresses, see tinyurl.com/yjals85

I want to say thank you to all who sent me e-mails and letters on this subject. The most interesting factor was how selfless and constructive the letters were.
As a North Somerset Executive Member I have submitted the argument for children and education. Dr Tim Southwood was very helpful with some medical science references which showed some alarming trends. My claim is that as the science is far from certain there should be a safe distance of three times the official figure because the scientists keep moving the safety limit outwards. I have also argued the National Grid could face legal action and costs if any school or other establishment had to be moved and damages claims from any child whose performance could be shown to be downgraded due to the pylons. This may seem somewhat extreme but there is a duty to get the best from each child and in the future it may be able to prove that the system may not kill or even incapacitate but downgrade.
The people of Nailsea needs to feel very proud of the way we have all argued the case. As Dr Fox points out this is one of the best educated towns in England and one never to be treated with less than respect.
