Man aged 32-years arrest on suspicion of murdering Joanna Yeates who body found near Nailsea

Less than 10 minutes ago the police announced they had arrested early this morning a 32-year-old man on suspicion of the murder of Joanna Yeates.

Detective chief inspector Phil Jones, the senior investigating officer, said: "I would like to thank the public for their continued support for the investigation and the information they have provided to us.
"I would also like to pay tribute to Jo's family and to Greg who continue to be unfailing in their support to me and my team at what is an incredibly difficult and painful time for them."
The police reminded press that proceedings are active and everyone is reminded of the Contempt of Court Act and therefore asked them to understand that they cannot discuss any more details at this stage.
During the past few days television crews have been reconstructing the last known movements of Jo are using Hollywood techniques to recreate the snow-covered ground where she was found murdered just a few miles from Nailsea in the countryside near Failand/Long Ashton.
The reconstruct was due to be broadcast on the Crimestoppers television programme.
