Woods' future on the agenda

A woodland in Nailsea – once threatened with development – has been sold for a second time.
The wood at Nowhere Lane, off Trendlewood Way, was due to go to auction this month, but was sold before going under the hammer. It is understood the site – which forms part of a bridleway to East End House – has been sold to a private individual.
No development proposals have been put forward for the two-and-a-half-acre site, but it is believed the new owner has approached North Somerset Council for pre-planning application advice.
The woodland was previously owned by developer Vince Nguyen who put forward plans to build two houses on the site last year. But residents launched a campaign to fight the plans, saying they wanted it to remain in its current form and enlisted the help of local planning consultant, Amanda Sutherland.
