Windy weather in Nailsea and nearby

Despite the odd small tree coming down at Portland Close, a few fences at Whiteoak Way, Nailsea, and a bit of rubbish strewn around the roads – it is bin day - Nailsea appears to have escaped the hurricane fairly unscathed.
But this could be Nailsea People's Michael Fish moment so if you know differently please let us know by posting news in the comment box below.
Currently we are experiencing gusts up to 24mph as the remnants of Hurricane Katia hit the British shores.
However, down the road at Tyntesfield the National Trust has closed the house and gardens as safety precaution due to high winds.
Officials said visitors to the Wraxall stately home could be at risk of debris from trees.
Wind speeds were forecast to top 50mph in parts of the district today (Monday).
NT spokesman Linda Coode said: "We have an open location with views across to the River Severn, which leaves us vulnerable to high winds.
"Trees are in full leaf at the moment and visitor safety is our priority."
There is also a chance that the estate will remain closed on Tuesday if the wind persists.
