Slim opposition for Dings' cup

DINGS Crusaders launch their defence of the Gloucestershire Cup at Cinderford on Sunday (2.30pm).

Only three teams have entered this season's competition which will be played as a round-robin, with Old Pats also in the mix for honours.

Callum Partridge has become the first player in Bristol Telephones' 51-year history to receive county recognition. He will line up at full-back for Somerset Under-20s against Devon at Cullompton on Sunday.

Oli James has re-signed for St Bernadette's, from Old Reds, and is aiming to play and coach at the Somerset One club.

Nailsea & Backwell stage a charity match on Sunday for Sports Aid (2.15pm), with The Great Western Ambulance Service taking on the Comet Customer Support Centre.
