Nailsea's second Win a Shop competition winner opens her Ewe-Knit 20 shop in the Crown Glass Shopping Centre this Saturday (October 26).
Liam Fox MP dropped in to help Emily Rickard get her shop ready to open on Saturday.
Emily Rickard was one of more than 30 local people who submitted their ideas to win the 15 Colliers Walk shop in the Centre free for a year. The judges were so impressed with the entries they received they decided to give away two shops, free for a year.
Emily's Ewe-Knit 20 shop at 20 Colliers Walk will provide machine knitting classes, materials for creative and hobbyist knitwear, and her own range of knitted clothing and accessories.
She said: "We will be having a grand opening ceremony at 10.30 on Saturday and everyone is invited to come along. We will be having introductory special offers, a raffle, cakes – and lots more."
Each of the winners has been given a retail unit in the shopping centre, free of rent and rates, for a year. In addition, they will receive free mentoring help and support from local financial, banking, retail and marketing experts. The prize is worth over £25,000 to each one.
Fran Hunt opened her Partysmartys party and wedding supplies sale and hire business in the centre earlier this month.
