SPEEDWAY - REBELS TRIO AUSSIE TITLE CHALLENGE DENTED

The 2nd Round of the Australian Speedway Championship was to be a disappointing one for the three 'Cases' Somerset Rebels representatives, with new signing Josh Grajczonek the best placed finisher of the trio in 8th place.
It meant that none of the Somerset riders, Jason Doyle, Alex Davies and Josh Grajczonek, progressed through to the latter stages of the meeting which was held at Undera, Victoria, the venue staging a round of the Australian Championship for the first time in its history.
For the majority of the meeting it looked as if Grajczonek would earn himself at least a place in the 'B' Final, but after scoring 9 points from his first 4 rides, a last place in his final ride was to ultimately deny him a possible place in either of the 'A' or 'B' Finals.
Davies and Doyle, Somerset's other 2 participants in the 16-rider field, scored 7 and 6 points respectively, an exclusion in Doyle's penultimate ride denting his final points tally.
The meeting was won by Troy Batchelor, the winner of last Saturday's opening round, with Dakota North putting knowledge of his local track to good use in finishing 2nd while Cameron Woodward finished in 3rd place.
