A Nailsea Indian restuarant has made a sporting gesture by sponsoring a local football team.

Posh Spice has paid for a new kit for Selkirk United Reserves.

Despite its Scottish-sounding name Selkirk United home ground is at Golden Valley playing fields.

The line-up in the reserves team is top row from left Fraser Gray, Greg Davies, Dan Cramphorn, Kevin Davies, Chris Hewitt, Gareth Owen, Anthony Burke and Simon Walsh.

On the bottom row from left is captain Carlo Esposito, player manager Rich Stamp, Rich Forse, Joe Stone, Craig Wookey and Paul Rendall.

Selkirk United Football Club field a first and reserve team which both play in the Weston & District Football League.

Carlo said: "We are extremely grateful to Posh Spice for its generousity."

The High Street restuarant has agreed to sponsor the team for two seasons.

Posh Spice is currently offering a free bottle of beer and 15 per cent discount on takeaway orders of more than £10 with a special voucher code on its website.

And every Wednesday evening is banquet night when diners can order a starter and main course with a side dish and either rice or nan bread for £10.95.
