A PUB in Nailsea will call last orders on Saturday as it closes down for a £160,000 refit.
The Royal Oak, on the town's High Street, has been taken over by the John Barras pub chain and is expected to reopen on February 17.
The investment will see the pub fitted with new HD TVs, furniture and a fitted bar and guest toilets.
The kitchen will also have new equipment and the pub is recruiting for part-time staff in the bar and the kitchen.
Steve Hurley, manager of the Royal Oak, said: "We cannot wait to introduce the John Barras brand to our community. The changes will allow us to enhance our offering and the guest experience, while still retaining the community hub aspect that makes our pub so special. I'm on the look-out for bright, passion- ate and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working in a team and performing under pressure."
John Barras is a brand from Spirit Pub Company, which owns and operates 800 managed pubs across the UK. Other brands in its portfolio include Chef & Brewer, Fayre & Square and Flaming Grill.
Comments
This is a great pub with good beer and good food at affordable prices in the current difficult financial climate.
The inside does look rather shabby though, so I sincerely hope the new refit will set them up for a successful and prosperous future.
I look forward to visiting when the refit is completed. Great competition for the new Wetherspoons!
GO for it guys!
