Following a highly successful Hog Roast and Treasure Hunt, Nailsea Lions have donated £500 to the Cots for Tots appeal, which raises money for the special baby care unit at St Michael's Hospital, Bristol. As more and more babies born are being born prematurely, the unit is experiencing unprecedented demand for its specialist cots with life-saving equipment.

With the aid of donations from numerous organisations, including the Lions, the appeal has been able to build a new Intensive Care Suite, and equip it with four life-saving cots and specialist equipment. The unit can now treat around 750 babies every year. In making the donation, Lion President Pam Hunt said: "The Lions are proud to be able to support this marvellous unit, which serves not only Bristol, but whole of the South West and South Wales."
