Fred Young, Gordano

Position: When I'm not hanging out on the wing you'll find me at loosehead prop.
Previous clubs: I'm a Portbury lad and started here when I was 14. I had three years off then played for the colts before working my way up from the thirds to the first team.
Honours: I've won the Young Player and Most Improved Player trophies, and I was in the side that was promoted from Somerset One to Somerset Premier. I'm now in my first season as captain.
Best and worst rugby memories: The best is winning at Nailsea & Backwell two years ago to win promotion. The worst: Being out for three months with a knee injury wasn't much fun, nor was losing 92-0 against Chard.
Toughest opponent: Chard, for obvious reasons, and club mate Andy 'Popeye' Peterson who hurt me a few times in training.
Superstitions: At home, I always touch the 'This is Gordano RFC' board before we run out.
Injuries: My knee (see above), and I did my ankle ligaments in a pre-season game and was out for two months. In the Somerset Vase final last season, I suffered two broken ribs and slipped two discs, but thankfully (physio) Mike Young put me back together over the summer.
Claim to fame: Despite being a prop, I've got this flick pass I throw out of the back of my hand ... and it's even come off a couple of times!
Summer sport? I go running and to the gym, that's about it.
Best and worst dressed team-mates: Andre Bailey always wears a lot of designer gear and looks the part. The worst is Matt Chadwick whose stuff is always too tight.
Who spends longest on their hair? Gareth Yandell, he's not got a lot but still spends a lot of time with gel.
