The National Trust is kick starting the new year at Tyntesfield with a number of new activities aimed at helping people put a spring in their step.

The Wraxall estate has launched 'Feel Good Friday' to help refresh the mind and body with events like early morning runs to star gazing and cookery demonstrations.

Nailsea Running Club is supporting a series of regular sprints through the 500 acre countryside which are suitable for beginners or the more experienced runners.

Tyntesfield visitor services manager Jon Ducker said: 'There is an extensive network of footpaths and trails around the estate's fields and woodland which make for a perfect off-road run.

"It's a great way to make the most of the wider estate and perfect for blowing away the post-Christmas cobwebs."

Nearly a dozen people took part in the first Tyntesfield run on Friday, January 6,.

This almost had to be cancelled due to high winds closing the house and grounds for two days earlier in the week.
