It's not too late to try a community course at Backwell School with new ones starting this month.

With so much attention focussed on home cooking and healthy eating, come and join the Winter Warmers course and make your own nutritious and inexpensive dishes including soups, supper dishes and puddings.

Also starting this month is a portraiture course with Bristol artist Rachel Milne.

The course will cover the structure of the face using a variety of techniques and materials, see photograph.

This is the seventh year the school has organised a programme of leisure courses for adults in the community.

The emphasis is on learning in an enjoyable and supportive environment with paper work kept to a minimum.

The February programme includes Floristry For Fun, Sugarcraft, Novel Writing, Photography and Spanish.

New courses start on Tuesday, Feburary 21.

If you would like to join one of these courses contact community arts manager Kathy Patterson by email kpatterson@backwellschool.net  or call 01275 465942.
