Nailsea's Crown Glass Shopping Centre has put together a '12 Days of Christmas' competition trail and a special Crafty Christmas evening to tempt shoppers this year.
12 Days of Christmas 2013
For the Family Christmas Trail, 12 shops in the centre are displaying one of the 12 Days of Christmas images. Trail hunters need to spot all 12, and complete and return their entry form at any of the shops taking part. They will then be entered into a prize draw where one person will win Christmas prizes including chocolates, champagne, crackers, a floral decoration, and a family organiser.
Completed trail forms must be returned between December 5 and 18 to be entered into the prize draw and the winner will be announced on December 21, 2013.
The shops taking part are: Break, Butterfly Travel, Ewe Knit 20, Partysmartys, The British Heart Foundation, MayNews, Occasions, New Look, JT Shoes, Store 21, Queenie's Flowers, and The Blue Room.
In addition, craft shops in the centre have come together to create a Crafty Christmas evening on Saturday December 6 from 6.30pm, when shoppers can come along to try a new craft or buy unique Christmas craft gifts – and get a glass of wine and a mince pie.
Partysmartys will offer help in wrapping Christmas gifts, and give advice and ideas for party favours for the Christmas table.
EweKnit 20 is staging its Christmas Knit & Natter Night and is inviting people to bring their own Christmas knits along and chat over a glass of wine.
Meanwhile, the Blue Room is offering creative activities, examples, demonstrations, and information, plus a range of local, unique, handmade gifts. And from 7.30pm to 9.30pm a Beaded Beads workshop will be held. Full details are on the website www.theblue-room.co.uk.
Crown Glass centre administrator Kate Cole said: "Our three craft-based shops are coming together to create this great pre-Christmas event. It will be a fun social evening for everyone from the experienced crafter to the 'creatively challenged'!
"Hopefully, those attending will be inspired to try something new or buy unique Christmas craft gifts."
