Noah's Ark zoo farm opened for the new season on Saturday and is celebrating winning a regional Access For All award.

This was presented at the prestigious Destination Bristol tourism and hospitality awards gala evening.

It is given to the attraction judged to offer the most inclusive experience to all of its visitors, particularly those with mobility, sight or hearing needs.

The family attraction based in Wraxall has now been put forward by Destination Bristol for the national Visit England awards to be held later this year.

Winning the Access For All award was not the only reason Noah's Ark was celebrating; the attraction was also named finalists for the Sustainable Tourism, Team Of The Year and Individual Outstanding Customer Service awards.

The Sustainable Tourism award is given to the attraction that was not only green in its environmental credentials but also in relation to the its local community, creating sustainable jobs and providing valuable work experience opportunities for students.

Noah's Ark currently holds the silver award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme and were delighted to be shortlisted again in a competitive field at the Bristol Tourism Awards.

The Noah's Ark building team was a finalist in the attractions Team Of The Year award category for the hard work and perseverance in terrible weather conditions shown by their builders in 2012 constructing the new Elephant Eden facility that is due to open in summer 2013 at the zoo.

Noah's Ark staff also came away from the award ceremony exceptionally proud of their park ranger David Bennett as he was announced as the runner up in the Individual Customer Service Of The Year category.

Dav was put forward for his tireless commitment to always going the extra mile for visitors to the zoo farm, ensuring customers have an excellent experience every time they visit.

Noah's Ark Zoo Farm opened for its new season on Saturday, February 2, and is expecting a busy year to include the opening of the new 20 acre elephant exhibit and the arrival of other new animals for visitors.
